Rekchev laughs nervously with you, but he seems disheartened.

"I'll...let's just keep moving," he says, heading back to the carriage.

[Velocity]

"I might come up with a thousand reasons for why I go to such lengths to kill random people, Pyro, and sometimes I convince myself to believe them for the hell of it... but if you want the honest truth... Well, I do it because I feel like it."

[DraconicDescendant]

"They never mattered anyway, either!" your robed fiery friend replies.

You wonder what it would like being a demon like Pyro, because he always seems to be having fun.

[Velocity]

"You know, I've only seen you on a couple of occassions when you haven't seemed incredibly happy, and I think they were involving your brother. Are you always having fun, even when you're not burning things, or do you just like to seem that way as part of an act? Just curious."

[DraconicDescendant]

"OF COURSE I'M HAVING FUN! Burning things, planning on burning things, thinking of burning things, it's all so fun! Just because the demon wears a smiling mask doesn't mean that he's actually faking being so joyfully gleeful!" Pyro says, practically bouncing up and down. A nearby push spontaneously goes up in flames.

[Velocity]

Smile at him.

"I'd say I'll miss you, but I won't because I'll be dead for real."

[DraconicDescendant]

"You know...we might be able to get something worked out with my father. He is powerful indeed! All we have to do is hold my brother down while I tear that mask off his face!" Pyro says, making a grabbing motion at the air in front of him.

[Velocity]

"...That's a good idea, actually, I'll consider it when I figure out who or what reanimated me in the first place. Speaking of your father, though, how powerful will you be after you win?"

[DraconicDescendant]

"I'll have all the power and mana I would normally have back on my home plane. That's a lot more than I have now. I'd also have access to my father's private collection of demonic artifacts..." Pyro giggles.

[Velocity]

"How powerful is your father, compared to other demons? If there was somebody else on this plane running around with the kind of power you just described, we'd definitely know about it, since everybody around us would be dying horribly."

[DraconicDescendant]

"He's the lord of our clan...he's more powerful than any of us. As his son, I have inherited some of that power. As for others on that scale, they're more discreet as a necessity," says Pyro. "That or this world isn't exactly worth their time."

[Velocity]

"Seems we're both royalty then, Pyro! Well, I might not be, but I'll make I am by the end of this! Not that there'll be anything left to rule. I'd ask you what you're planning to burn, but it's easier just to ask you what you're planning on leaving intact."

[DraconicDescendant]

"Why don't we go and burn anybody in the fort over there? We need a proper base of operations for this leg of the journey!" says Pyro.

[Velocity]

"Let's do that then. I'm not bothered one way or another about the fort, but clearing it out'll be fun."

[DraconicDescendant]

You direct the caravan towards the fort, and take the winding road up slowly. You reach the doors, finding them to be shut tight. Inspecting the area, you see that the fort has two round towers, and is shielded by natural rock walls, as well as the cliff that it's built into. You could consider scaling the wall, but you'd need tools for that.
