You try to get to sleep on the bed even less comfortable than the mattress in the storage room, and fail rather miserably.
At some point after the lights go out, you hear somebody slide away the narrow viewing panel on the door.

He wakes up groggily, mumbling.
"...Don't need to wake up... in a cell... nowhere to go... Wait... escape..? Wait, what?"
He gets up to his feet, dazed, as you check the other cell, waking up the very dark-skinned man inside, with black hair down to his collar, and a little stubble.
"Who're you and how'd you get in here?" he asks suddenly, but in a hushed tone.
