Alright so I just blew away like half the users on the forums. Considering they had 0 posts this was much of a loss. Now, if you were a pro lurker or a super new, just re-register, but I warn you I'm probably going to prune 0 posters more often (though not as aggressively). If you want your account to not be deleted, post once, even if its in crap. If you have posts, I won't delete you unless your spamming or are a ban evader or something.
I gotta do this because Google wasn't thrilled to find adult porn links (or a single link as far as I can tell) in the user profiles. As if anyone has ever followed any of that shit ever. Anyways hopefully that'll keep me out of trouble. If you see spam, be a little bit more aggressive than usual will ya? Even if its old spam.

I Wanna Be The Guy: The Movie: The Game is a sardonic loveletter to the halcyon days of early American videogaming, packaged as a nail-rippingly difficult platform adventure. Players fill the role of The Kid, a youthful, vaguely Megaman-esque protagonist on a quest to become The Guy. This inscrutable plot, however, is just a vehicle for a wide variety of inventive, well-designed and frustrating jump-and-shoot challenges that pay homage to many of the games you loved as a child. The ever-fragile Kid explodes in a shower of red pixels at the slightest brush from the game's many obstacles, from traditional spikes and bottomless pits to more unconventional killers, such as plantlife and puzzle pieces.
Using a multiroute layout not unlike a Metroidvania, the game grants a degree of deadly exploration, without those extraneous upgades meant to make life easier. The game provides players with a choice in terms of their deathrate, thanks to a variable difficulty setting that changes the number of save points from frequent to nonexistent. IWBTG is open to all players; knowledge of videogaming history is optional, and may not help against the frequently ironic and always sadistic deathtraps located herein. And so, the question is left up to you... Do YOU have what it takes to be The Guy? -- As Written by Forum Member Finale

I'm sick of watching people use MMF2 or GM, so heres a god damned barebones engine from one of my projects. It's an early build that doesn't have all the features I'm working on for other projects, BUT hey it's pretty much 100% accurate. Also theres no gun support, save system or death. Consider this a 'Litmus test'. I put only effort until putting together this little basic construct demo ( It's an old backup file from way back) and giving you something full featured would require me to actually gut a file and bugtest it, which I have no interest in. So if you can't figure out how to make this work for you, you probably shouldn't be making a fangame. Hell, you probably shouldn't be making one anyways, but I'm not going to stop you. April First

Lets just pretend I put up a fake DMCA takedown notice and all move on with our lives with less effort spent.

Quote (5:01:10 PM) Yupingas_IWBTG [Mibbit@c80-216-255-159.bredband.comhem.se] entered the room. (5:01:16 PM) Yupingas_IWBTG: HI PEOPLE. (5:01:32 PM) Yupingas_IWBTG: Okay fine, fuck off. (5:01:47 PM) Yupingas_IWBTG left the room (quit: Quit: Client Exited). Let just look at the time stamps. Enter. Wait 5 seconds. Say hi. Wait 15 seconds. Tell everyone to fuck off for not saying anything. Wait 15 seconds. Leave. Total actual time: 37 seconds. If you expect to go into an irc channel and get a response in 37 seconds, you are a fucking moron. So many people who came in and asked for me missed out on talking to me because they couldn't wait a minute. I'm busy and a lot of people on IRC idle (that means we're not staring at the screen 24 hours a day). What sort of ADD motherfucker do you have to be to expect engaging discussion in 37 seconds? I don't answer most of my IMs in 37 seconds! This happens all the time and I'm tempted to ban people who do it just to make a point. Change of IRC Servers

As a notice to any IRC users out there, the official chat has been moved to esper.net. Still #IWBTG. Feel free to drop in, things have been more active lately.
